Broker guide
Connect Robinhood
Robinhood connects with your Robinhood email and password, typed into the Broker Agent on your own computer. It takes a couple of minutes.
Before you start
- A TradeBo account — sign up if you don't have one.
- The Broker Agent installed on the computer you'll trade from.
- Your Robinhood email and password, and your phone to approve the sign-in.
Connect your account
Open the Broker Agent and sign in to TradeBo
The agent opens your browser to sign you in, then returns you to the app.
Choose Robinhood and enter your Robinhood email and password
Pick Robinhood as the broker, type your email and password, and press Sign in to Robinhood. They go from the agent to Robinhood and nowhere else — TradeBo never receives your Robinhood password.
Agent setup → Broker: sign in to Robinhood Approve the sign-in
Robinhood asks you to confirm it's you, and the agent waits. Open the Robinhood app and approve the request. If the notification doesn't arrive, press Resend notification, or Text me a code instead and type the code into the agent.
Waiting for you to approve the sign-in in the Robinhood app Choose the account TradeBo should manage
With a single investing account there is nothing to choose — the agent selects it and says so in its activity log: One account found — it's selected. With more than one, it lists them and asks you to choose which to manage.
Signed in: the activity log shows each step, ending with the account it picked You may have more than one account
A single Robinhood login can hold several investing accounts. The agent shows each by its account number, its nickname if you gave it one, and its current balance — if you're unsure which is which, match the number or the balance against the Robinhood app.
Pick only the account you want traded. Every account you add is managed, so if you want TradeBo on a second one as well, add it later from Settings → Broker accounts → Add account in the agent.
Retirement accounts (Roth and Traditional IRA) are not listed: the agent connects individual investing accounts only.
Assign a strategy to a position
In TradeBo, open Portfolio, pick a position and choose a preset — Accumulate, Moderate or Aggressive. Positions without a strategy are left alone and cost nothing.
Good to know
- The agent does the work, so it needs to be running. While your computer is off or asleep nothing is checked, nothing is traded, and no credits are used.
- To stop TradeBo trading an account, remove the account from the agent.
- If Robinhood signs the agent out, it asks you to sign in again; trading on that account waits until you do.
